The Linux Desktop

I have a long history with Linux, I started on 1995. When on 2013 GNOME moved to its 3.x version & Ubuntu decided to use as desktop Unity (instead of GNOME 2.x as it did before) y felt betrayed (not just me, but the whole community using GNOME).

How to read the whole history behind Asimov's books

Since I was a child my favorite kind of novels had been science fiction ones, and one of my favorite authors is Issac Asimov. One of the things I like the most about his work is how he built a whole timeline and universe where he tells the history of mandkind and his conquer of the universe. When reading his books this is not obvious, but once you read several of them you'll start to see it.

How to model your business idea

We have a business project with my wife and had trouble deciding whether it had potential or not. We decided to participate on a local program/competition for entrepreneurs called Naves. During that course we met a lot of people, learned a lot about entrepreneurship and got a method for evaluating projects.

RSS, Atom, podcasts... Something more out there?

I have lately been heavily exposed to feeds/syndication protocols pushing the boundaries of what I knew in relation to this subject. There are lots of other news services (facebook, twitter, etc...) but the ones described over here provide a common ground/language that's open to anyone. You'll just need a reader (there are many including Firefox/Thunderbird) and you are set to go.

Drupal new plugin architecture

Today I assisted a Webminar from CommerceGuys. Drupal 8 will introduce a new architecture that eventually will render current modules obsolete. The initiative seems strong, moving along, has technical reasons behind it, etc... I was relieft to learn current module system will coexist for some time, their plan seems to be a gradual change.
